To develop highly advanced products that meet complex security needs, we forge partnerships with private companies and government organizations, such as the U.S. Department of Homeland Security, Science and Technology (S&T) Directorate Borders and Maritime Security Division.
In addition, our Science and Engineering teams continue to strengthen our Intellectual Property (IP) base with more and more new patent applications filed.
State-of-the-Art X-Ray Inspection Facility
The Rapiscan X-ray Imaging Laboratory is a state-of-the-art facility designed for subsystem and system-level testing of X-ray imaging hardware. Rapiscan established the X-ray Imaging Laboratory with the primary objective of expanding contract research and development activities. The company collaborates directly with government agencies and other stakeholders to propel cutting-edge advancements in X-ray inspection technology. Additionally, Rapiscan forms strategic partnerships with companies and universities to drive collaborative projects in this field.
The facility is also used by third parties looking to employ advanced X-ray imaging technologies to inspect a variety of objects, and by those seeking to collect data for image library creation. The facility is available to third parties on a project, daily, or weekly basis. Use of the facility includes support from a team of electrical and mechanical technicians, as well as PhD physicists and a Radiation Safety Officer. Rapiscan also welcomes collaboration with university PhD programs.
